Experience sharing with Macau Aviation Security Personnel

On the invitation of Macau International Airport Security Co. Ltd., (SEMAC), DED OPS I Mr. Jacob Cheung, DED OPS II Mr. Nelson Lui, AED OPS I Mr. Ken Yeung, SM OPS II AS Mr. Jeffrey Leung and TAD CSI Mr. So Wai Tang visited Macau on 6 June 2019 for an experience exchange and sharing.  The delegation was warmly greeted by the Mr. Pun Su Peng, Managing Director of SEMAC and his senior management staff.

Macau will celebrate 20th Anniversary of its return to the motherland in December 2019 and launch a series of celebrating activities.  In this regard, SEMAC invited AVSECO to share our experience in various aspects of aviation security services provided in 2017 with a view to planning for their coming related celebrating events. 

The sharing session mainly covered the topics of preparation, planning and execution by AVSECO for the celebrating events for the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland.  The issues of communications with respective Government Departments and stakeholders; security screening of people, vehicles and baggage; application of airport restricted permits / passes and airport vehicle licenses; issuance of permits / licenses; escort arrangements; contingency plan for inclement weather; manpower and resource deployment; arrangement of vehicles and equipment; etc., were extensively discussed.

In addition to the staff of SEMAC, representatives from Macao Civil Aviation Authority, Macau Immigration, Macau Customs Service, Macao Police Force also attended the meeting.  Members of the delegation shared their experience with the attendees who showed great interest and raised many relevant questions on the topics.  The attendees expressed that the discussion session further strengthened their knowledge and skills in aviation security and contingency arrangements.

Finally, the AVSECO delegation wished SEMAC every success in the forthcoming celebrating events.  Both sides looked forward to having further exchanges to enhance communication and elevate level of aviation security for the two international airports.
