Jointly Nurturing Aviation Security Professionals
The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 1 June 2026, marking the establishment of a long-term strategic partnership to advance talent development and professional training in the aviation security sector.
The collaboration leverages VTC’s strong expertise in vocational and professional education together with AVSECO’s extensive industry knowledge and operational experience, with the aim of strengthening the pipeline of skilled aviation security professionals.
The partnership covers multiple areas under the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS). Key initiatives include internship opportunities for VPAS students enrolled in aviation-related programmes, as well as on-site visits to Hong Kong International Airport to observe AVSECO’s daily operations. These activities provide students with practical exposure to aviation security workflows and professional standards, enabling them to gain valuable hands-on experience prior to graduation.
Outstanding students may also be considered for priority employment opportunities, supporting a smooth transition from education to industry.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr Donald Tong, GBS, JP, Executive Director of VTC, and Mr Jacob Cheung, Executive Director of AVSECO. The Memorandum was signed by Ms Florence Chan, Deputy Executive Director of VTC, and Ms Emily Chu, Deputy Executive Director (Management) of AVSECO.
Looking ahead, VTC and AVSECO will continue to explore further collaboration opportunities under VPAS to deepen industry–education integration and jointly nurture a new generation of aviation security professionals with strong professional competence, a global outlook and a strong sense of social responsibility.
