4^th Sniffer Detection Training Course Graduation Ceremony of AVSECO Canine Unit’s (ACU) was held on 8^th August 2023.  Six sniffer detection canines with their handlers have successfully passed the canine detection training, which is a 12-week basic training program includes obedience training, agility training, scent training, as well as the theory course, conducted by the Police Dog Unit and ACU Canine Trainer.

We are delighted to have Honorable Guests from Airport Authority Hong Kong, Civil Aviation Department, Hong Kong Police Force, Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department for the graduation ceremony.  During the ceremony, the canine handlers and explosive detection canines, namely Hugo, Hunter, Kilo, Indigo, Archie, Firearms and Ammunition detection canine Eckie performed explosives baggage search, agility and obedience demonstrations.  In the future, they will be deployed to the HKIA to perform sniffer detection of explosives, firearms and ammunition, as well as to perform airport ambassadors to enhance the image of HKIA. Last but not least, ACU will continue to provide the world-class aviation security services in Hong Kong and maintain the highest standards of aviation security at the Hong Kong International Airport.
