In a ceremony held on 23^rd April 2021, three new AVSECO Canine Unit (ACU) Explosives Detection Dogs (EDD) and their Handlers graduated from the EDD Training Course. The three canines, which were imported from the Netherlands in December 2020, and their Handlers have been trained in explosives detection at the HKIA. They will soon be deployed to perform both security and ambassadorial roles with the ACU providing a specialist capacity in explosives, firearms and ammunition detection.
